Wood Replacement by Elmwood Painting

Wood rot repair and replacement before we paint

Paint cannot fix rotten wood. It can only hide it for a season while the damage spreads underneath. We find the failing trim, fascia, and siding, replace it with sound material, prime it properly, and then paint. That is how the finish lasts and the problem actually goes away.

§ 01 — WHAT IS INCLUDED

EVERY JOB COVERS THIS.

  • Damage found and priced up front, not discovered mid job
  • New wood primed on all sides before install
  • Repairs blended so you cannot tell where they were made
  • Done as part of a paint job or on its own

§ 02 — HOW IT WORKS

THE PROCESS.

  1. STEP 01

    Inspect

We probe the usual failure points: sills, fascia, trim ends, and anywhere water sits.

  2. STEP 02

    Remove

Failed wood comes out completely. Cutting out half the rot means doing this again next year.

  3. STEP 03

    Replace

Sound, primed material installed and sealed at every joint.

  4. STEP 04

    Finish

Painted to match the rest of the home so the repair disappears.

§ 03 — WHAT HOMEOWNERS SAY

Spent a lot of time on the prep and didn't cut any corners.

§ 04 — STRAIGHT ANSWERS

WOOD REPLACEMENT FAQS.

How do I know if I have wood rot?

Peeling paint that keeps coming back, soft spots you can press a screwdriver into, and dark staining at trim ends are the usual signs. We check for all of it during a free estimate.

Can you just paint over it?

We will not. Painting over rot wastes your money because the finish fails as the wood underneath keeps decaying. Replacing the bad wood first is the whole point.
